This vacation trip certainly had some surprises along the way but it ended up being an incredible experience in spite of the difficulties encountered in the first segment. It was a great stress reliever and provided a chance to relax and take a much needed break away from the daily routine. In terms of what a vacation should accomplish it was a huge success.
All told, I rode a little over 9.2K miles spread over five weeks. Along the way I met countless wonderful people, some travelers such as I, and others caught up in their own daily routines but making my life a little easier because of it. That last thought will remain with me after I return to work.
I do regret not being able to visit Alaska and the Yukon Territory but it may actually end up being for the best. By the summer of 2008 my vacation leave balance should be replenished to the point where I can take another extended trip. Having seen the Atlantic Provinces, the next trip could have Alaska and the Yukon as the primary destinations and allow significantly more time to be spent there than would have been the case on this trip.
I hope you've enjoyed this abbreviated summary of the trip. Thanks for riding along.
