A late afternoon thunderstorm brewed. It formed very rapidly out of the
northwest.

It was still clear to the south, so there seemed to be a chance of outriding
the storm.

The crosswinds became very strong. One of my bags was blown off the bike so
I turned around to retrieve it.

I pulled off the road at this location to retrieve the bag. As I was pulling
to a stop in the loose gravel a strong gust of wind hit broadside and literally
blew the bike out from under me. A passerby in a pickup truck stopped to help
me pick it up from where it lay. Once the bike was righted this photo was
taken.

The distant wall cloud was a warning of tornado potential.

The thunderstorm finally overtook me and hit with a vengeance.
